At Line-x Restorations we believe in keeping all employees fully informed about our policies, procedures, practices, benefits, and what employees can expect from us as an employer and what we except of each employee.

NOTHING contained in this handbook was intended to create a legally enforceable obligation on the part of line-x restorations. Due to the fact that we are a growing company we reserve the right to full discretion to add to, modify, or delete portions of this handbook at any time without advance notice. Any employee concerned about possible updates should check with a current manager for an updated copy of the provisions. No individual other than line-x restorations has any authority to enter into an employment agreement or any agreement that modifies company policy. Any such modification must be in writing and must be signed by the owner or current store director.

At Line-x restorations we reserve the right to terminate employment of any employee at any time without prior warning, with or without cause. No one but Line-x restorations has the right to alter this agreement.

History

Line-x Restorations has been an idea and somewhat construed between my father and his brothers back in the 70’s at Kennedy Auto sales, and the old Kennedy Body shop on Dort Highway and Robert T Blvd. Even though The Brand Line X was not around they offered the highest quality of restoration and body work with what tools and products were useable at that time.

Only now The Complete package and service that line-x restoration is bringing to the market will outweigh its competitors by bringing two unique services into one. From here on out what history is made is brought together by the quality of the service and kindness we show to our customers. So in cense our Employees will help shape our history into what we become in the next 10 years.

Section 1

Employment

Application for employment

All candidates applying for employment at line-x restorations must fully complete and date the Standard application form. The application must be in detail and signed to verify the accuracy of previous employment and personal information.

We reserve the right to investigate into any portion of the requested information for employment and could even deny or terminate any employee for false or misleading information given.

All employment applications that are denied for employment will be kept on file for 6 months and possibly reviewed at a later date for openings if we so desire.

Compliance information

In order for line-x restorations to comply with federal government regulations regarding practice to employee people without discrimination, it is necessary for the dealership to maintain detailed information on each formal candidate for employment and who has been hired.

Immigration Law Compliance

Line-x Restorations is committed to employing any us citizen or people who are authorized to work in the United States. We will not unlawfully discriminate on and form of citizenship or origin. All in accordance with the Federal Immigration Reform and control act (IRCA) of 1986.

Medical Examination

A Medical examination will be done on all employees prior to starting work to make sure employees are safely able to fulfill their duties under employment. Current employees must also undergo a medical examination once every two years to still show they are fit and suitable to continue out there everyday tasks on the job.

Drug Testing

Line-x restorations is committed to providing a safe and productive work environment for all employees. All Job applicants and current employees may be asked to provide body substance samples (urine or blood) to determine illegal use of drugs and alcohol. Any applicant or employee who fails the drug screening will not be accepted for employment. Any employee that refuses to submit to a drug screening is applicable to disciplinary action with the possibility of termination of employment.

Motor Vehicle record inquiry

Employees expected to drive line-x restoration company vehicles or customer vehicles must provide a valid driver’s license. Employment or assignment will be conditional pending the receipt of satisfactory report from the Michigan department of motor vehicles.

As an employee of Line-x Restorations you agree to adhere to our company’s standards and follow all protocols. The business owner or store manager will inform you of the laws impacting your specific job and will instruct you regarding compliance requirement and procedures.

Vacation Eligibility

The company recognizes that employees need a scheduled time away from normal work duries for their personal well-being. line-x restoration grants annual vacation with pay to full-time employees who meet the following service requirements:

Length of continuous service

1 year…………………………………………5 days (40 hours)

3 years………………………………………10 days (80 hours)

5 years………………………………………15 days (120 hours)

Working hours and pay

Working Hours

Monday-Friday 8 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Saturdays 8:00 A.M. - 5:00.

Sundays Closed

Overtime

Employees may be scheduled to work overtime when requirements during operations are called so or other needs cannot be accomplished during regular working hours. Any employees that work over 40 hours will receive 1 ½ for their work effort. Overtime is actually based on actual hours worked. Any employee who fails to work scheduled overtime or works overtime without prior authorization from management may be subject to disciplinary action or possibly termination.

Training

$100 maximum paid for a full day of off or onsite service training.

Pay period and payment

The pay period is weekly, personnel are normally paid Friday for work performed Monday through Saturday of the previous week. Your pay rate is confidential and should NOT be discussed with fellow employees. Discussing your rate of pay with another employee could result in discharge. Any questions concerning pay the supervisor should be consulted.

Recording Time Worked

Government regulations state that all hours worked need to be accurately documented in order to calculate pay and possible benefits in the future.

Attendance

Regular and on time attendance is expected for efficient operations. Excessive absentees and tardiness is not only inconvenient but also causes costly problems. While it is recognized that an occasional illness or personal reason may cause unavoidable absence from or tardiness, or regular on time attendance is required for continued employment.

Any employee is absent from work for 3 consecutive days without informing their department manager it will be assumed that the employee resigned and employment will be terminated as of the last day worked by the employee. Also any employee who fails to maintain an acceptable attendance record may be subject to disciplinary action.

Severe weather conditions

If there are any questions regarding store hours of work during severe weather conditions, employees are responsible for contacting their department manager regarding opening and closing hours.

Unless otherwise notified employees are expected to be at work on time. If an employee arrives late, leaves early, or otherwise alter his/her normal work schedule without prior approval from a manager they will be excepted to make time up and possibly grounds for termination.

Payroll deductions from Pay

The dealership will make arrangements for payroll deductions for the following:

Federal, state, Local income taxes

Social security taxes

Uniforms

Loss, Damage, or destruction of company property

Child support or other court ordered wage deductions

401k Retirement Savings plan

Working hours and pay Continued.

Qualifications for No Pay

Line-x restorations does not pay for leave for the following situations unless an employee has saved up vacation pay they want to use for their time of leave. The situations including:

Sick Leave

Maternity Leave

Medical absences

Funeral Leave

Family Medical Leave

Military Leave

Voting

Jury/witness duty

Workers Compensation

Employees of Line-x Restoration are covered by workers’ compensation insurance which is purchased by the company in the state in which it operates. This insurance provides compensation to an employee for lost wages caused by illness, accidental injury, or death suffered in the course of or as a result of his/her employment with the business in accordance with the laws of the state of Michigan.

Reporting- a report must be made within 24 hours of the onset of illness or injury.

Unemployment compensation

Unemployment compensation is another form of insurance line-x restorations pays for. It helps to provide employees a loss of income resulting from unemployment beyond their control.

Work Policies and Regulations

Care of equipment and Facilities

Employees should be concerned with the care and safe use of business equipment. Employees are expected to follow all regulations and procedures (Section 4) when it comes equipment safety standards and guidelines.

Parking

Adequate parking is a necessary for our line of service so employees needs to park down or out of the way from the main office.

Personal Appearance/clothing

All employees are expected to wear the work uniform if they are a spray or body technician in the back. While anyone in the front main office is to at least wear dress slacks along with at minimum of a polo shirt or dress shirt, Along with Non-slip dress shoes.

Smoking Policy

All employees are not allowed to smoke on our around the front of the building if at all. We strive to influence our employees to become smoke free for their health and also the comfort ability and productivity in the work place.

Safety equipment

Employees will be provided a respirator and safety glasses along with gloves to perform certain duties and to maintain within all the EPA standards.

Personal Tools

All employees must provide their own tools for any bodywork related task assigned. All line-x related spray in liner equipment will supplied but MUST be maintained by employees.

Customer Relations and Vehicles

We recognize that each instance that any employee talks to a customer they are setting an example of the entire business. Also customer’s cars are only to be moved to be worked on or delivery to the customer if so requested. Any form of eating or smoking in a customer’s vehicle or reckless driving is grounds for termination immediately.

Work Policies and Regulations Continued

Security

All doors, file cabinets, lift doors and gates must be locked during after-hours to ensure that someone is not breaking into the business. There will be video surveillance at all times around the business. Any lost or stolen property must be reported to the immediate supervisor.

Alcohol and Drugs

Line-x Restorations does not tolerate any employee being inebriated or under the influence of any form of drugs. Any kind of drugs or alcohol in the office will be grounds for termination immediately. If there is any sign of being under the influence we may also require an employee to leave and take a drug screen immediately or blood alcohol screening to determine the presence of anything.

Harassment

If any employee or co-worker harasses another employee depending on the situation it is grounds for termination. All situations big or small need to be reported to whoever the supervisor is at the time.

Section 4

Safety

Safety Rules

All appropriate dress attire must be warn (dress shoes or work boots, work uniform, safety glass).

NO gasoline inside of the shop.

Fire extinguishers in and around the shop.

Read Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are on hand and in the main office for faculty.

Defective tools need to be reported to a supervisor and not used.

Do not operate any machinery if not trained to use it.

Do not adjust machinery while any machine is in operation.

No horseplay in the shop.

Learn to lift the correct way.

Safety goggles and hearing protection needs to be warn when using any power or air tools.

Respirators needs to be warn when spraying or around any kind of harmful chemicals.

Employees must not endanger any other employee’s lives.
