Introduction

IT vision Consultant is a Nepali provider of Information Technology (IT) Services. It is located on Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is an up and coming IT consultant firm established in the year 2010. A group of friends and there dedication in the field of IT is the reason behind the establishment of this company.

The IT Vision Consultancy is an IT company with a team of experienced Designers and Developers purely intended towards delivering interactive solutions to the customer. Currently,

Today, IT Vision Company has more than 300 employees working for them. The company has opened three branches across major cities of Nepal. The company has successfully made global partnerships with many leading firms including several IT Technology majors.

Some mostly used performance appraisal systems are

Rating Scale

This methodology requires an employer to develop an in-depth grading system, similar to the way students in school are assessed. The scale is use to evaluate an employee success within a variety of areas, such as technical skill set, teamwork and communication skills.

Management By Objectives (MBO)

MBO performance appraisal was first introduced by management theorist, Peter Drucker.(Suchi,2012) MBO requires a manager and employee to agree upon specific, obtainable objectives with a set deadline. In this method, the emphasis is on tangible and measurable goals. 

General Performance Appraisal

This appraisal method involves ongoing communication between the manager and employee throughout the entire year. At the end of the year, we can determine whether the pre-set goals and objectives were met, provide feedback, and set new goals. (McPheat, 2007)

The 360-degree feedback

This method of appraisal involves allowing other employees to fill out a questionnaire detailing their experiences with a specific employee. The feedback of an employee can be review by all. All 360 degrees of the employee's working and working style are analyze but involve the whole circle of individuals with whom the employee interacts for work. These feedbacks are then passed onto the employee to increase their work productivity.

Behavioral Appraisal

It is a behavioral related Appraisal system, which generally measures the observable behavior of the employee. It assesses the employee based upon what they do. It looks whether the employee has met the needs of the company, if he/she has done the work in the proper manner.

According to me, I would like to follow the 360-degree performance appraisal system, as it is one the modern way of appraisal system. The outcome of 360-degree performance appraisal is highly engaged review, which gives a complete understanding of one’s personal performance, and a true evaluation of our skill set that we are presenting while doing the work. (Task, 2012) It enables us to create a solid action plan that can be link to our personal or professional goals for further learning and development.

360 degree appraisal

The 360-degree performance appraisal is best way of managing appraisal of employees as it covers everyone. (Akrani, 2011) The major six parties which 360-degree appraisal affect are:

Top Management

The top management normally evaluates the middle level managers; they evaluate the performance of lower level managers and senior employees.

Immediate Superior

The immediate superior evaluates the performance of his subordinates.

Peers/Co-Workers

As they work continuously with each other, they know each other’s performance. Peer evaluation is used mostly in case where teamwork is important.

Subordinates

They can also evaluate the performance of his superior.

Self-Appraisal

They can also evaluate their own work, and the result is for self-development.

Customers

Customer can evaluate the performance of employees who interacts them. This is important because customers are the most important part of business.

Task 3

The making of plans or objective is the crucial part of handling a business. A business cannot process well, if it is not properly handle. Before making any plans for the business, we must know where our business stands. The SWOT analysis is an excellent way to know our position, problems and opportunities.

SWOT Analysis

The SWOT stands for Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. The SWOT analysis helps the business to know their strength, weakness, analyze their threats and know their opportunities to overcome such threats. It is a good framework for reviewing strategy, position and direction of a company or business proposition. (Renault, 2012)

The action plans is a process, which help us to focus our ideas and to decide what steps we need to take to achieve a particular goals. It is a statement of what we want to achieve over a given period. Preparing an action plan is a good way to help us to reach our objectives.

Since IT Vision has not been able to reach many people, due to lack of promotions and good leadership qualities. An action plan is created to achieve those goals in upcoming days.

However, the company has failed to do so until now. The company still has not been able to keep up with changing technology and are facing problems when it comes to new innovation

Good Leadership

Good Leaders not only maintain standard of quality to the company, but also directly or indirectly affects how the employees work. Good Leaders are confident and has the capability of taking quick decision. However, the leader present in IT vision has failed to prove their leadership qualities. They have failed to raise the bar of quality and enthusiasm among the workers.

Once we figure out a few solutions for our problems, we then need to pick the best solution out of them. The solution, which provides best way of solving the company’s problem, is then chosen.

Once the company applies the solution for its problem solving, we need to check whether we took the correct solution or not. We need to check the entire possible scenario and confirm about our selection. If the problems are not solving, we should follow the same strategy again for proper solution.
