In the question 1 are talk about choosing an E-commerce website and asses it in term of seven features. Besides, must mention which features are implement well and which features poorly. While mention the features must also provide some of the important information and suggestion about the features for further improvement. As an example E-Bay, it is a website that include the seven features of E-commerce. What are the seven features? Which are Ubiquity, Global Reach, Universal Standard, Richness, Interactivity, Information Density, Personalization/Customization. In the opinion, state that which of the features are good in the e-Bay and also mention the poor features of the e-Bay. Then give the reason why the features are good or bad and give a few suggestion for improving the e-Bay website.

From early and unassuming beginnings where the amount traded was very courteous and a company having a website was rare, now e-commerce sees trillions traded annually and do not have any large company of any commercial presence can afford to be without a website. Clearly, nowadays for many companies, their presence on the Internet is their window to the world and they are total e-commerce businesses.

Actually what is E-Commerce? E-Commerce is an electronic business for any type of business or also can known commercial transaction which mean that involve the transfer of the information through the internet. It also covers a range of different types of businesses, from consumer based retail sites, through auction or music sites, to business exchanges trading goods and services between corporations. It is currently one of the most important aspects of the Internet to emerge. As an Electronic Business draws on technologies such as mobile commerce, online funds transfer, supply change management, Internet Marketing,  online transaction,  EDI, and automated data collection systems. E-commerce allows consumers to electronically exchange goods and services with no barriers of time or distance. The field of the electronic commerce has expanded rapidly over the past seven years and is predicted to continue at this rate, or maybe even more. In the near future the boundaries between conventional and electronic commerce will become increasing rapidly as much more and more businesses to move sections of their operations onto the Internet.

In the field of E-commerce were also include seven unique features. What are the seven features ? First, Ubiquity (It is available just about anywhere in anytime) and significance of itself which are marketplace is created or even extended beyond boundaries and shopping can take place anywhere or reduce the cost of shopping. Second, Global Reach (It reach beyond the whole national boundaries which mean total of number of user an E-commerce business can have) and significance of itself are commerce is enable for across the national boundaries without modification and it's marketplace includes billions of consumer. Third, Universal Standard (Which mean standard technology are shared by all country around the world) and the significance of business which are lower the market entry cost and reduce the search cost make more simple to find all the supplier. So, the first three are related to the global nature of the e-commerce environment. 

Next, Richness and Interactivity are referring to the content available on the E-commerce platform and how it used by the consumer. And the Forth, Richness (The content of the message) and the significance business which are the internet can deliver a message to an audience of millions rich marketing message in another way. Fifth, Interactivity (This technology allow two ways to communicate) and it also similar to face-to-face but on a large global scale. Sixth, Information Density (The total amount and quality of information available to all market participants) which mean that the information becomes inexpensive, plentiful, and accurate. So, the Information density is relates to the technological capabilities of the E-commerce, in that vast amounts of information can be stored and made accessible very inexpensive and without the need for bulky storage. Seventh, Personalization/Customization (Allow personalized message to be delivered to certain individuals or groups). E-commerce takes the personalized/customized selling and marketing to a new level because of the level of information-gathering and interaction and engagement a consumer has online. So the products and messages can be individually indicated in a much more efficient way, saving a lot of time and even boost up the potential of sales.

A website like E-Bay it already include seven unique features. Although it already had those seven features but still have some advantages and disadvantages or poorly features that suppose to improve for some of the e-Bay user. Besides, e-Bay also can known as Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) which mean consumer can done a transaction with another consumer on a website and it can also called as Online Auction. Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) marketing was the creation of any kind of product or service with the specific promotional strategy being for consumers to share that product or service with others as brand advocates based on the value of the product.

So, I choose E-Bay as the sample of the E-commerce with the seven unique features from good to poor. E-Bay got a plain design but well functioned and easy to user so it is simple for customer to order the products. Let's discuss about e-Bay seven features:

Ubiquitous

e-Bay actually done well in this feature because e-Bay was a C2C website that can be access through at anytime and anywhere. So, the user or customer from the other country even at midnight also can access and buy the products they wanted through e-Bay because e-Bay was 24 hours service.

Global Reach

as a C2C website like e-Bay must not lack of whole world connection, e-Bay actually was a world wide website which mean it across all the country or cultural boundaries so that people around the nation can access to the e-Bay website and that is the good feature for the e-Bay.

Universal Standard

Almost every products in e-Bay was more cheaper than in marketing. Why? Because the purpose of Universal Standard is to lower the market entry and reduce the cost for the consumer.

Richness

Nowadays e-Bay was a very popular website for everyone. Because E-Bay got a powerful selling and trading environment. It provide the information richness for all of the user.

Then continue with the poor features of e-Bay.

Personalization or Customization

When come to these features e-Bay does not have a pretty well personalize and customize. Why? Because when a customer buy a product like Dell laptop, it cannot be customize due to another user that selling it. Since e-Bay was not a official website for Dell laptop, so it cannot be done, besides the specification of the Dell laptop already constantly fixed when it was sold and that is the poor feature for e-Bay. But that's not the worst feature for e-Bay.

Interactive

In e-Bay if a user wants to meet the buyer, they cannot have face-to-face experience because it would be a big problem for them. Example: If the buyer is from USA but the user is from Malaysia, then the buyer must fly all the way down to Malaysia just to meet up the user. Is it worth at all ? Of course the buyer can send through the e-mail to the user but one precaution for sure is the buyer does not know who was the user and he or she would be cheated. So, that is why e-Bay was so poor in this features.

Information Density

Indeed the e-Bay does have quite a lot of products but one thing need to be consider which is the quality of information and products to all the buyer and seller. In my opinion, the quality of the information in e-Bay mostly cannot be trusted. Why? As an example: when a buyer buy a product, he or she does not know the actual size and the quality of the product. If the buyer really bought it and find out that the product was not the size or quality he or she wants then it would be a wasted of money and time. So, the suggestion of mine which is e-Bay should made a video call software like Skype then about the quality of information I think e-Bay should put the more details of the products. But, at the end e-Bay still a great C2C website for me, just need to take some precautions.

Then the question 2 are discuss about why most of the consumer rather choosing buy products through online instead of cash buying. Explain the reason of choosing online purchase and give the detail information. As the example a customer wants to buy a Dell laptop but he or she buy it from the website instead of going to shop to shop and buy the laptop. Is it online shopping much more easier and saving time? Why is it conventional shopping are wasting time and transportation petrol? And mention what are the factor that causing the consumer around the world like to online shopping. Besides, state the detail information of advantages and disadvantages of online purchase and conventional shopping.

Nowadays in the world full of technology, online shopping was no longer a new concept,  especially in the urban culture people are love to shop online as it give them the freedom to see, choose and buy from their own home without going outside and without carrying rupees with them. As an example: I would like to buy an Asus Laptop and Dell Laptop through their official website, because it is easy for me and I no need to waste the transportation petrol and time for going to the shop and buy. Besides, there are a lot of model in the website. So, I can choose the model that I want. In the internet, we can buy all the thing we want but as long as we have the internet and a computer. But must also consider the mishandling of the shipping and it can cause loss of money. Anyway still got a lot of people choose online shopping. Almost everything can buy through online. In the other hand, we also can buy from other website if the model that customer wanted already sold out in official website, such as E-Bay and Amazon. Simple and easy.

So in Kolkata also the idea of online shopping is now getting new height. That is why people of Kolkata love to shop online. Besides, the internet has now become the mall of the whole world, where people shop for everything from cameras to caviar to clothes to computers. An overwhelming 76 percent of online users have purchased at least one product or service. And 77 percent of the people are married and 43 percent already have kids. So, their median household income has declined sharply. It is now $59,100, which compared to what they had four years when it was $66,000. And 43 percent of people who shop online have online access at work.

The sociologists want to give that whole credit to the advancement of internet and modern technology that give us such facility and advantage. According to sociologists it is the natural urge of human for development and growth. Due to that urge human always to accept everything that is new and have appositive effect in our life. Actually there is one of the reasons behind the sky catching popularity of online shopping is that human desire. So, there are many other factors that make online shopping now a day so popular.

The first factor is hazard free. Why? Because online shopping is much easier than the conventional shopping. It gives us the freedom to sit on our chair and get all our desired products at our door step which makes online shopping less tiresome and more exciting. People don't need to roam hundred of shops or markets just to buy one single sari for their beloved or wife. Besides, they also can save their time and petrol of their transport. All they need to do is just sit in front of their computer and search their desired or required product on internet and then just click on the Dell laptop or others products and wait for the delivery to their home. Then the second factor is all together can enjoy. Online shopping gives people the chance to enjoy shopping with their whole family. Maybe there is people's grandmother who love to select the wedding dress on her granddaughter's wedding. But her health doesn't let her go outside and shop. So, if someone use online shopping they can take her with themselves too and perhaps she can also join the wedding shopping. Like that each and everybody of their family can see and select their desired products by sitting together.

Cash won't be a problem for all of us. Why? Because cash won't be needed while using online shopping. In this age of complexity it is not safe to carry so much cash or even credit cards with you in a crowded market while you are shopping. That is why if people use internet for that purpose then they don't need to carry any cash with them. Because all the payments will be done online and the cost will be directly paid from their account. Besides, no need to carry cash makes people shopping more exciting and enjoying. The other factor is there are many thousands of products on the leading online shopping websites from where people can make their own choice and they don't need to go shop to shop to choose products like jewelry or dress. People just need to log on to a leading website for shopping and view plenty of latest and traditional products, they can select according to their budget.

People can have all the time for just shopping online. Because online shopping gives people the freedom of shopping at anytime they want. It is doesn't like the conventional shopping where they have to be in the shop within a certain time of the day. They can shop whenever they get the time: day or night, the service is for 24 hours as long as they have the internet. Although there are many more advantages of online shopping than conventional shopping but still got some disadvantages such as: do not physically see the item so most of the people doesn't know the exactly size of the item, and people need to wait until the item arrived. Besides, people that buy through online also must consider the chances of mishandling while shipping or risk of delivery. It will also cause the user who buy it to loss of money if the item mishandling. Although, it had the certain risks that we need to be taken but still got a lot of people preferring online shopping than conventional shopping.

Conclusion

Question 1

As the conclusion, e-Bay does have the seven features of e-commerce but still lack of improvement. Five of the seven features were good, only three of the seven features were poor. In the future, if e-Bay had certainly improve the three worse features, I assure that it would be a greatest and most well-functioning C2C website in the whole world. At that time, everyone can buy the products they wanted by surfing e-Bay and without any kind of worries.

Question 2

As the final conclusion of question 2, most of the people preferring to online shopping because it really save up a lot of time and save the transportation petrol, so that people no need to run around go through the shop to buy the products they wanted. Besides, it would more easy and simple for them because they only need to sit in front of their computer then just click on the products they want in the certain website. Such an easy way to shopping online, why wouldn't people love it ? So, online shopping made human's life much more easier.
