The design type, equipment and the protocols that are needed in structuring the IT infrastructure and how it is being install into the floor plan diagram of the library is show in the (diagram 1 and 2.)  The sitting setting has a capacity of occupying sixty people in the floor diagram plan. It demonstrate the location of the communications room, Servers, switches, wireless access points, six desktop computer PC pods, six Laptops etc. Booking has to be made in other to make use of the desktop computer through the Liberian and a password will be given to the laptops users who want to make use of the internet via wireless access point that will be available.

Note: The other six Laptops that will be purchase for staff use will be connected via Cable for security purpose, to prevent theft or stolen. Although it can also be connected via wireless access point, but to prevent staff from taken it outside the organization to avoid unauthorized access to data’s stored on the laptop.

The Component of the IT Infrastructure:

The IT Infrastructure has various components, which enable the users to make use of the Internet. Below is the following Component

Internet Service Provider (ISP) Gateway

In other to have access to internet you need an organization that will give you that access which are called Internet Services Provider (ISP) they connect clients to internet using wireless or fiber-optic connection or through copper wires. A gateway is a node (a router) on a TCP/IP network that acts as an access point to another networks According to Ross (2009). The gateway would act as a node and would transmit the traffic from the library’s workstation to another network segment. The default gateway would connect both the library’s internal networks and the outside network (Internet). It acts as a proxy server as well and a firewall. It can be connected with both a router, (which uses headers and forwarding tables to decide where packets are sent), the switch, will supply the actual path for the packet in and out of the gateway.

Wireless Access Points

The wireless access point (WAP) is the main device, that "or" which connects wireless (wi-fi) devices together to form a wireless network. The Wireless G Access Points let you connect Wireless-G (802.11g) or Wireless-B (802.11b) devices to your wired network to enable you add PCs to the network without the usage of cabling stress.

Firewall: It’s a hardware and/or software solution that helps, to restricts access from your internal network to Internet, and The other way around. Firewall is also needed when separating two or more local networks parts. In other to protect the connections between the library corporate network and the Internet, its imperative for the IT service to have firewall. This will ensure that packet sent and received (e.g. email, file transfers) from the computers within the library’s network is monitor and conforms to the security policy of the site. This will enable your systems to be protected from Internet security threats.

Server Switch: Server switches allocate inbound request trace within the nodes of Internet server groups and Web proxy cache arrays. The library server switch has be design to allow library IT services to find feature information concerning web sessions and link servers with load balancing and ant-redundancy competences. Server switch design to inspect the cookies, other features of web traffic and URLs.

Main Switch: The library main switch would function as a regulator, allowing networked devices to communicate effectively with each other on the network. Using switches will not only be cost effective for the library but also it will increase the staff productivity via information distribution and resource sharing.

Communication Room

The communication room as illustrated in Diagram 2 is a room designated for a specific purpose of sharing amenities. The communication room would help the whole structure, as satellite sharing sites. Though, it houses main end patch panels and supports "key" technology equipment, such as the servers and the main data network router, (mail and file) and switches.

The network connections and the cabling of the total technology that reside in the building would be control by the Library IT Network Infrastructure
