INTRODUCTION

Business is an organization or economic system where goods and services are exchanged for one another or for money. Every business requires some form of investment and enough customers to whom its output can be sold on a consistent basis in order to make a profit. Businesses can be privately owned, not-for-profit or state-owned [1] . Based on my understanding, business is when someone that wants to sell the products and services towards the customer and then get some money as their profit.

Information technology is an essential partner in management of your business, regardless of the kind of enterprise you operate. Whether you need computers for storage, transfer, retrieval or transmission of information, you can manage your business with greater accuracy and efficiency with the assistance of information technology and computer applications. Based on my understanding information technology is one system that has the database to keep all the data about the company, employee and customer. Through information technology also many things that we can do in a one time because nowadays technology information is change rapidly according to the current modernization.

So here, business and information technologyare very important nowadays because most of the organization or people is follow the current trend by using the information technology in their business.

OBJECTIVE (S)

There are few objectives of the business and information technology in term of the advantages to the organization which is storing and protecting the information and also communication. However, there also have the disadvantages in term of the implementation expenses and security breaches.

For the first objectives by having information technology in business is storing and protecting the information. It is means that when the organization applying the information technology in their business then they can install any software of application for their organization purposes. So, when the organization has the applying information technology in their business of course the database will automatically have in the organization systems. Database also will have their own storage to keep all the data or information about the business and their customer, or employees. And at the same time, using this system also can keep the organization’s crucial data or record can be protected because every organization will hired a person that will in charge the information technology department and he/she is the only one that can access the system in the organization due to the authority that he/she have.

Second objective of having information technology in the business is communication.Nowadays, communication is very important because through the communication many information can be inform to the others people whether use the electronic communication such as telephone, emailing or using the social networking as the intermediate to communicate with the other people. By having the information technology in the business, of course the organization can create their own website through the internet because nowadays many people use the internet to communicate. By using the internet, it can make the people that who want to communicate will easily reached even they are not in the same place. So, when the manager in the organization want to delegate the job to their employee or inform the information towards their employee, then the manager can use the internet such as emailing them the information. So, it will be more quickly and effective.

Next objective in term of the disadvantages by having information technology in business is implementation expenses. As we know, by applying the information technology in the business is quiet expensive because the organization have to buy the software of the systems like database and then the organization also have to buy a user licenses for their employee because some of their employee will operate the systems that have been install in the organization. So, that is why the organization has to consider about the cost that they have to use in implementing the information technology in business.

Last but not least the objective in term of the disadvantages by having information technology in business is security breaches. Some of the employee that has authority to access the system can breach the security in term of the valuable information about their organization or their customers. They can sell the information towards the organization’s competitor in order to make more money. So, it is not even secure by having information technology in business.

Storing and Protecting the Information

We know that every organization wants to apply the information technology because they also need to follow the current trend which is using the advance technology. So, if the organization apply the information technology in the business it will make the business can run smoothly and efficient. This is because all the work can be done quickly and the information regarding to their customers or employee also can be keep storing in the database systems. When the information or data was keep in the database systems, automatically the data and information is protected because not all the employee that can access the database system. At the same time, when the information have been keep in the database, it will make easier to the employee to find the customer data, supplier data and etc. additionally, when the data customer, supplier was keep in the database, it will make the manager easy to make analysis and at the same time can make the right decision making form the analysis data that have been done.

Communication

In term of the communication, nowadays communication is very crucial to all people, organization and also in the business. By apply the information technology in the business many things that we can do such as creating our own website, social networking like Facebook and Gmail. This is because by having that, it can make the organization can easily to communicate with their customers, suppliers and also their employees itself. For example like if the organization promote some products and services to their customers, and then when there are customers that was busy their products, the customers also is allowed to give the suggestion or comment about their products and services. This is because when the customers comment about the products and services through the website or Facebook, automatically the person that in charge the information technology department can reply the comment and giving the feedback quickly. So, it will make the organization can make the improvement about their products and services due to customer’s complain in their website. Hence, it can make the communication between the customers and the organization more quickly and efficiently.

DISADVANTAGES

Implementation Expenses

Every organization has to consider about the costs that they have to use in order to applying the information technology in their business. This is because it will make easier to the organization run their business. Even the costs to start up are more expensive but the organization has to think in deeply because the information technology is more useful in the long term used for the business purposes. So, when the organization implements the information technology in their business then they have to face some barriers like they have to train the employee that are not familiar using information technology systems, and then they also have to buy the license for the employee that who will in charge the information technology department. If the organization not consider about this issues then it will make the business is not running smoothly because mostly all the organization will use the information technology in their business.

Security Breaches

This is another one disadvantages for the business that implement the information technology in their business which is security breached. This is because when the organization have hired the employee that in charge the information technology department then they will have authority to access the data or information that valuable to the organization such as detail about customers information, profit and sales revenue of the organization. We know that this is very important to the organization and no one will not allow to accessing all this data and information. That is why the organization keeps it as confidential in order to protect this information. However, if there unauthorized person that can access the system and misused the data about the customers or the data about the organization then it will make the organization in the bad situation due to the security breached that the organization do not keep the customers information safely.

CONCLUSION

For the conclusion, business and information technology is very crucial nowadays because technology is more change rapidly follows the current modernization. We can see therelots of people or organization using the information technology as their tools to communicate, and doing their work with fasters.

So, if the every organization using information technology in their business then it can make their work will be easier and flexible because by applying the information technology in their business they can communicate with their customer, supplier and etc. By applying information technology in their business also many things that we can do such as emailing, forum and also the organization can create their own website through the information technology. So, if the organization has their own website then they can promote their products and services; increase the number of theircustomer, and etc.

Other than that, the organization also can easily communicate with their customer through the internet because many people always suing the internet to shop or anything. At the same time, the organization also can minimize their costs because cerate the own website or offers anything to the customer its free. So, by applying information technology in the business it will make the organization can run the business with smoothly and efficiency because by using information technology it can make they can do the work everywhere and it is more flexible.
