Question 1: Describe project integration management in your own words. How does project integration management relate to the project life cycle, stakeholders, and the other project management knowledge areas?

Project integration management is an element of Project management which coordinates all the aspects of a project. Project integration ensures smooth performance of all processes. The deliverables here include but not limited to Project’s Charter; Scope that can be a initial version, management plan about the project.

In the project management perspective, integration comprises the features of associate the team; consolidate the status, and taking collaborative actions that are important for the sake of project completion. It also is needed for managing the expectations from the stakeholders who provide the budget and requirements to see if we meet their expectations and standards. Management is not one manage the requirements but it will also help in making the right choices about the allocation of resources who have to work in this project, choosing the right business feature or even compromising with other based on the priority, handle the dependencies between different teams like UIX, Engineering, QA, testing etc.

Question 2: Summarize the key work involved in each of the seven processes for project integration management.

The key work involved in each of the processes for project integration management is described below,

Develop Project Charter

In this process a document is developed which formally authorizes the project or phase and ends documenting the initial requirements that meet the expectation of the stakeholders.

Develop Project management plan

The initial requirements documentation is used as input to understand and document the necessary actions to define, prepare, integrate and coordinate all subsidiary plans.

Direct and Manage project execution

This process uses the project management plan to execute the project plan in-order to meet the project objectives.

Monitor and control project work

This process includes tracking, reviewing, and regulating the progress of the project in-order to meet the requirements of the project using the project management plan.

Perform integrated change control

This process includes reviewing all change requests, approving changes, and managing changes of the deliverables, organizational assets, project documents, and the project management plan.

Close project or Phase

This process finalizes all he activities across all of the project management groups to formally complete the phase or project. This involves a formal closure of the project with the stakeholder.

Question 3: What is the main purpose of a project management plan?

The Project Management Plan is the guide for implementing the project, preparing documents, assumptions and decisions regarding inter team information exchanges, management steps and executions of them, implementation and overall project governance. The purpose of the Project Management Plan is to clearly set the roles, accountabilities, actions, tools and steps that will result in the major project being managed so that it is completed punctually, under the allotted fund, With the expected quality of the product.

It also maintains the confidence, support and trust between the team and public and other individuals related to any given project in a safe way.

The Project Management Plan addresses all phases of the major steps in the life cycle of it, and guarantees that the project will be handled holistically and for a given range along with the point to remind that it is handled not incrementally as the project advances. It is also important that the Project Management Plan establishes the metrics by which the success of the project is defined. The entry criteria of this plan should be the acceptance of the project plan for all the stakeholders before we start the work.

Question 4: What project management tool can you use to help manage relationships with the different people who are involved in your project?

Management tools are nothing but a collection of best practices from many past experiences formulated in a way of templates, lists or any other way. Something like process, steps etc. These things help manager in managing the relationships with different people who are engaged in the project. These tools helps manager to tailor the process that can meet the project privations, provide a detailed information about the technical and management related details that can be used in the project management plan, Helps to identify the right resources along with the skill set needed for the execution to work in the project, create and set standards for configuration management that can be applied in the project. This also includes identification of the configurable items from the receivables and deliverables in the project that are in-line with change control board’s process.

Introduction

Project Name : ePMS – Electronic Patient Management System

ePMS is aim to sold as SaaS product to the medical practitioners who did have affordability to have a bigger office space, employ many resources and keep track of changing federal laws in managing insurance and patient information. This product should help doctor’s to manage patient records, schedule appointments for visit.

Sponsors

This is a for-profit organization which is self-sponsored at this juncture and also looking for people for sponsorship.

Team

This project will be managed by Arya T and will be technically lead by Jai. There are 2 more java developers who will be working on the server side namely Karthick and Balamurugan. Thanigai will be looking over the UIX development and Suresh will be working on the Quality Assurance and Continuous integration. Jai will not Architect this application along with the database design. He will oversee all the technical areas in the project initially.
