Goldenstate Manufacturers was established for manufactureing textile.The reason of establishing the company is that textile is necessary for people and the company is among the top five manufacturing organizations in the Australia over the 30 years, so it can provide good quality of textile to the customer.

b) Identify three other types of organizations and explain how their purpose and reason for establishment might differ from Goldenstate Manufacturers.

Bank

People need a place to keep their money safe, so bank was established for people to deposit their extra money safely or withdraw money quickly when they need money.Bank provides interest and loan to the customer.

Hospital

Health is the most important for people so hospital was established for helping people keep health.Hospital's purpose is slove people's health problem by provides checking, treatment and health direction.

School

The reason for establishing school is that children need a place to learn knowledge and skills when their parents are busy on working or their parents do not have enough knowledge to teach them.School provides teacher and good environment to students for studying.Besides knowledge and skills school also teach students how to be a good person and how to make contribution to the society.

The difference between bank, hospital, school and Goldenstate Manufacturers is that Goldenstate Manufacturers provide goods to people ,the other three provide service to people.The Goldenstate Manufacturers pay more attention on profit,however,the other three regard assistance and service as first.

Mark (CEO)

As a CEO he is the highest level person in the company,so Mark needs to make a exact goal for company.The other function of him is to help finding the problem in the company and making plans to slove problems.

Carl (Operations Manager)

Carl as a operations manager is to make sure that every department operating well and he needs to have the good skill of communication

Quality Control Manager

The role of Quality Control Manager is quality superviser,the function is to make sure the quality of all stuffs are quick good before selling to the customer.

Research and Development Manager

The role of research and development manager is researcher and developer.Their functions are that research manager research information from customer and marketing about the textile for the company.The development manager helps to improve the quality and quantity of the textile.

Firstly I think Golderstate Manufacturers needs to make sure what the purpose is.Secondly,make a plan about how to achieve the purpose, what barriers may stop meeting the purpose and solve the barriers.Making sure everyone in the plan is very positive and efficient.

The CEO Mark assigns a goal for company that makes staff in the compangy have a clear direction to work by motivation to accomplish goals and plans.

In order to achieve the goals quickly and efficiently,the progress needs to be monitored,compared and reset to correct the work and deviation.

Organizing

Arranging the work to accomplish organizational goals.Improving the employee's activities,facilities and equipment.Making right decision for the goals ,distributing the work reasonably and supervising the employee working for the goals.

Planning

Defining a specific goals for compangy,establishing and developing strategies to achieve goals successfully.Improving plans to integrate and coordinate activities.

a)From any of the leadership theories you have studied on the course identify and briefly explain which theory Ron,the Finishing Manager most closely aligns with,giving evidence from the case study to support your comments.

Ron aligns with the Charismatic Leadership Theories.Because the Charismatic Leadership Theories is the followers of charismatic leader follow the mission of leader with exhibiting extreme loyalty to the leader,having confidence in the leader,emulating the leader's values and behaviour and deriving self-esteem from their relationship with the leader.According to the case study,Ron focus on the staff to follow his knowledge without any self ideas and the turn-over in the finishing section is high.So that means Ron can make right plan for the workers and the employee work with Ron must be believe him and have confidence to him.

b)Identify and explain the Leadership styles of Adam,the Knitting Manager, and James, the Dyeing Manager giving evidence from the case study to support your comments.

Adam belongs to the Task-orientation/Style.Because the Task-orientation is the leader assigns a specific task and make specific procedures to be followed,encourage people to work harder with closely supervise employees.For this style getting the job done is more important to them than employees' growth or personal satisfaction.However,Adam's lead style is "My way or no way" that means employees have to work in Adam's way there are no ideas and other method for employees to work.Adam does not considerat employees' self growth or personal satisfaction.

James aligns with the Employee orientation/Style ,because the Employee oriented leaders are friendly,trustful and earn respect,have a warm relationship with team members and will to make changes.Employees' growth and personal satisfaction may take precedence over getting the job done.For James he dose not focus the employees on work,he ignore whether they work and he is very friendly,he is liked by his staff.He try his best to avoid any action might upset the team or turn them against him.

c)Comment on how appropriate you feel each of these leadership styles are in the current situation-give two reasons for your answer to each style.

In my viewpoint,I think the Task-orientation is more appropriate in the current situation.Firstly,over the past 18 months company's production has dropped by 20% and customer complaints have increased about the quality of the finished goods that means recently there are a few issues have happened in the company and these issues have influented the company seriously.These issues need to be sloved as quick as possible.So employees have to be focused working on the plan to achieve the goal quickly.Secondly, if allow the staff to work according to their own willings,as a result there is no exactly plan,it will take a long time to achieve the goal and the employees will not work hard.

a)Select one motivational theory:Briefly discribe the theory.Using information from the case study explain to Mark how he might use the theory to motivate Carl the General Manager Operations.

The Incentive Theory: The Incentive theory is a theory, owner of the company in such a way should be the goal of the owners is the staff's goal is the same employee compensation structure.

As Carl is firm and strict but he does not want to interfere in manage the staff and organize the workload.He dose not want to interfere in helping CEO achieve the goal.So Mark need to provide some tangible or intangible reward to Carl to promot he to help recruit techinical managers and slove the problem.Give a motivation to Carl.

b)Advise Adam,the Knitting Manager,of four ways he might motivate his staff so they will remain the compangy.

He must find the reason why the workers' turn-over is high in his section.He might talk with the staff and ask them why them want to go.

He must solve the problem after finding the reason.He might improve the environment in his section and try to meet the workers' reasonable needs.

He must change his attitude to work and cannot just believes in "My way or no way".He might change his way to work,often communicate with staff and ask their advise.Making the way to work with staff together.

Adam must try other way to achieve the goal.He might ask other manager for help to set up plan,and make the plan according to the different requirement and different environment.

a)Explain to Ron three benefits of delegation,using information from the case study to illustrate your comments.

Delegation focuses attention and increases productivity.With delegation the workers have a clear and common goal so all workers can focus attention and work together on the same goal which can improve the qulity of work and can finish the goal better.

People with assigned tasks will learn new and valuable skills when working on delegated tasks that they have never worked on before.If the workers know more skills, they can work more technological,as a result the work efficiency can be improved quickly.

Delegation helps manage time effectively.The production is usually held-up in the stitching section as the staff are waiting for fabric through the finishing sections.That means the Finishing section often late to finish job because the manager does not manage the time effectively.So the delegation can be used to manage time effectively.

b)Explain to Ron the five steps needed to be taken for effective delegation.

Examine your motive: Ron should know why he is delegating.The aim of delegationg is to teach,coach and inspire.For example in the case study,Ron is delegating because he need to make sure his section can finish work on time and he should teach and coach his worker how to work effecient.

Define the task: Ron should describe the purpose of the task or goal describe.For example in the case Ron should tell the workers that they are aiming to work faster and better to finish the work on time an describe what and how the workers should do.

Set the vision: Ron need to explain to workers that he noted good performance and want to provide them with an opportunity to take on new responsibility.Such as Ron can provide some reward or promotion to the employee who has a good performance in the job.

Clarify expectation: Ron should support the workers when they need help.For example Ron prefer his workers to work only in his way,so when the worker cannot understand the plan,Ron should explain the plan to worker and make them understand it.
