Media refers to the groups that transmit and communicate the information and news to all the people. The different people in different industries will transmit the latest data to all the people through media, so media actually help the various industries. There are three types of media such as print media, broadcast media and internet. Print media is newspapers, magazines, journals and other printed materials. The role of print media is transmitting the latest and accurate news to the people. There are many people, especially the older people and the intellectual like to read newspaper because there are a lot of latest and accurate information in the newspaper. The teenagers like to read the magazines. ‘News Strait Times’ and ‘The Star’ are the examples of newspaper and ‘Galaxie’ and "Top Gear’ are the examples of magazines. Broadcast media is transmitting the news through the television and radio. The role of broadcast media is report the news and facts by sounding and showing the image. There are many people, especially the television and radio lovers like to watch television and listen to the radio so they prefer to watch the news in television and listen to the news which report by the reporter through the radio. Internet is a media that the fastest transforming the news because more people rely on online sources of news. The people like to surf the internet to read the news and get the information more than use print media and broadcast media. Internet makes them feel easy and up to date. Therefore, media plays important role in transmitting the news and the information to all the people.

1.1 Function of Print Media

1.1.1 Business Industries

The function of print media towards business industries is publishing the advertisement for the business. The newspaper can let the business person promote the product of the business to the readers and also can show the picture of product. The details of the product will list down in the newspaper to let the readers know more about the product. If the business person decides to make a discount for the product by giving the voucher to the people, he can make a voucher in the newspaper to let the readers cut out the voucher and buy the product. There has business section in the newspaper, the success business person also can write an article about business to the readers to tell them the experience of him in business. There also has jobs application section in the newspaper. The company who want to hire employees can list out the jobs description and jobs specification in the newspaper to let the job applicants know about it. Flyers and magazines also are the print media. The business person also can choose to use flyers to promote their product to the target people. This is a best choice to promote the restaurant and the travelling places in the magazines because the colourful pages in the magazines will attract more people. The business person can control the cost of advertising by using print media.

There has entertainment section in the newspaper. The readers can know about the program that shows on the television through newspaper. The listing program in different channel will show in the newspaper. The summary of certain program also will show in the newspaper, the readers can glance through the summary of the program first in newspaper before watch the program on television. This can let the readers save the time, no need to search the program in different channel all the time to find the suitable program to watch. The news about the artist or singer also show in the newspaper. There has an entertainment section to write about the incidents which happen to the artist and singer in the newspaper. The people who are the fans of the artist and singer would like to read this type of news. The music and film industries can let the people know more about the merit of the artist and singer through newspaper, so the readers can know more about their lovely artist through the newspaper. Besides that, some magazines contain games guidelines to the readers also. There will promote the games and tell the readers about the games in the magazines. The movies guidelines also will show in the magazines. The readers who read the magazines will know about the latest movies in the cinema and there have some summary of the movie and the colourful images to attract the readers to have a movie. There are some games places and relax places show in the journals also to let the readers know. The readers will entertain themselves in the places which show in the journals.

There have some education advertisement publish in the newspaper. The courses of the colleges and the benefit to the people to take the courses of the college will list down in the newspaper. This can let the readers know about the details of the courses. There also have some news about the college when the colleges do some event that will show in the newspaper, the news will build up the reputation of the college also. Some professional people will write some articles about education in the newspaper to encourage the people to do something in their education life or solve the education problem. The environment of the college will show in the magazines. Some people concern about the environment, so the colourful pages of the magazines will help the colleges to attract the people. The colleges also can choose to use flyer to promote their college, the colleges can choose the target people to promote the courses.

Nowadays, the people would like to do their business through the internet. The internet will give the right to the business person to do business through internet. The business person will promote their product by list out the features of the product and show the image of the product in the internet. They no need to spend their energy to promote the product outside of the house one by one. They just have to stay in the house and create the attractive pages in the internet to attract the people. There is a lot of information about the business in the internet also. The people can search it easily and quickly. The latest data of the business will immediate post up to the internet by the business industries, so the business industries can gain the confidence from the people who read it and build up the reputation of the company. The videos which talk about the business also can find in the internet. The people who want to see the video to gain the business knowledge can search it through the internet easily. The business person can promote their restaurant, hotels and the interesting places to the people also. They can post the image of the restaurant and hotels environment and list down all the features and also the price in the internet to attract the people.

The video or MV of the singer will post in the internet to let the people watch, the people can search their favourite singer’s video to watch without wait the VCD or DVD out to the market. The artist and singer also can build up their popularity by posting their private picture to the people. The entertainment industries will create some blogs in the internet to promote their games. Some of them will promote their films, songs, and also artist and singer to the people to let the people know more about it.

The internet will give the right to the college to promote their courses in the internet. The people who want to continue their education in their life can search the internet to know the details about the courses of the colleges. The internet allows the education industries like colleges to give the education knowledge to the people and they will provide the accurate information to the people through the internet. The professional people also can share their experience about the education through the internet. The latest information and news about the education will post by the education industries through the internet immediately. The education industries easy update their information in the internet also.

2.0 Introduction of traffic congestion

Traffic congestion is the serious problem which happens on the roads in large cities. There are common to see that the roads in large cities full of cars, buses and lorries. This phenomenon will make the traffic busy and traffic congestion occur. Traffic congestion can classify into two types which are recurring or non recurring traffic congestion. Recurring traffic congestion is appearing in daily routine and in certain times. Non recurring traffic congestion is appearing in an unexpected and unusual event which is reducing the road capacity suddenly. The road capacity is the main reason that causes the occurring of traffic congestion in large cities. The cars on the road increase, the road capacity decrease.

2.1 The first view

Governments should act to reduce the number of cars on the roads. Governments can provide more public transport like buses, train and LRT. The public transports can reduce the traffic congestion because the people will not go out by their own cars and this can increase the road capacity. When the roads are not full of cars, the capacity enough to the public transports and the cars, the traffic congestion will not occur. Governments should provide more buses on the roads and also the train and LRT to easy the people who want to go out. Governments also can increase the funding for the public transports to make it comfortable, convenient and economical to use, then the people will use the public transports to be their vehicles when they want to go out. Governments can organize some campaigns about the reducing the number of cars on the roads to prevent the traffic congestion happen. Governments can invite the professors or some professional people who involve the topic to give talk to the people and convince them to reduce the number of cars on the road. The speaker in the campaigns also can explain about more the advantages of reduce the number of cars on the road for reducing the traffic congestion to the people to attract them. Governments can create some attractive posters which about the reducing traffic congestion to post beside the roads. The people who drive on the roads can see the poster. This action can let more people know about the importance of reducing traffic congestion. When the people see the poster, they will know governments want to act something to convince people to reduce the traffic congestion by reducing the number of cars on the road. The people will feel that the governments care about the citizens and they will concern about what the content of the poster. Governments should increase the taxes on the sales of cars and also petrol. This can reduce the number of the people to buy the cars. Because of the price of the cars and petrol increase, the people will prefer to choose to use public transports. The cars will reduce on the road and can reduce the traffic congestion. When the people want to buy the cars, they will consider about the price of petrol also because cars and petrol are complement goods. If the price of petrol increases, the number of people who buy the cars decrease. Governments can increase the toll fees to reduce the number of cars also. When a group of people want to hang out together, they will not drive their own car and choose to use car pool because of the toll fees. Governments should increase the parking fees in city areas also. The people go out will use car pool or public transports and not private car use. Governments should reduce the importing of cars. The people who prefer to buy the import car will reduce also because of the limitation of import car which limit by governments.

2.2 The second view

On the other hand, the people have responsible to reduce the traffic congestion in large cities too. The people must be willing to change their behavior in accepting the government policies which about the reducing of the number of the car to reduce the traffic congestion. The people must give the cooperation to the governments when governments change the policies to reduce the traffic congestion. The people should reduce to use private car when go out because the increase the number of cars on the road, the probability of appearing traffic congestion increase also. Even though the governments take action to reduce the number of cars for reducing the traffic congestion, most of the people do not follow the policies and decision that introduced by the governments, so the traffic congestion cannot be reduce also. The people should consider and analyze the policies rationality which introduced by the governments and take action on it. There is the responsibility of the individuals also to use the cars less and use the car pool. The people should know how to reduce the traffic congestion and take right action on reducing the traffic congestion. The people should use the private cars less. When the people want to go out with friends, they should consider about the problem of traffic congestion, so the people should use the car pool. This action can reduce the traffic congestion and also the cost of petrol, toll fees, parking fees and air pollution. These are all advantages to use the car pool but the most important is reducing the traffic congestion. The people also have responsibility to use public transports more. The public transports which provide by the governments should be appreciating by the people because the governments provide it to reduce the traffic congestion. The people should appreciate the government by use the public transports more. This is the responsibility of the individuals to use the public transports in reducing traffic congestion.

2.3 Opinion

The views of reducing the traffic congestion have been discussing and the opinions towards both views have been giving. In conclude, in my opinion, the governments should take some action to reduce the number of cars for reducing the appearing of traffic congestion. The people should take their responsibility too in reducing the traffic congestion. The people have responsibility to give cooperation and respond to the governments who introduced the policies to reduce the traffic congestion. So governments and the people should put in their effort together to reduce the traffic congestion by take the correct action.

Governments also can increase the funding for the public transports to make it comfortable, convenient and economical to use for the people.
