What Impact Has Information Technology On Business

Introduction

These first individual assignments given, then I choose the title for Business & IT. Business & IT is related each other. I will explain briefly about the business and also Information Technology (IT).

"An organization or economic system where goods and services are exchanged for one another or for money. Every business requires some form of investment and enough customers to whom its output can be sold on a consistent basis in order to make a profit. Businesses can be privately owned, not-for-profit or state-owned." [i] 

According to the web state above, as I understand it, the business is the result of the country's economic gains, where all the transaction involves money. Every business needs capital and for sure a business is to achieve profitability. The business can be made in private business and the profit excluding the profit.

"The study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware." [ii] 

Means (ITAA) defines IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, to store, to protect, to process, to transmit, and to securely retrieve the information.

These days IT is essential to the mainstream of businesses. Since IT is used widely in business, all employees must learn the knowledge of IT. It is important and is an area of ​​work become more skilled. Almost all companies in the world use IT services to grow further. Where, the internet users are increasing from children, teenagers, and adults.

With IT we can make whatever kind of business. Not only in terms of business, is IT needed in education. It is an important medium for people to gain the knowledge. But if we do not use it the right way, it can be a nightmare. Therefore, a company that uses IT requires competent personnel and requires adequate training to avoid the loss.

From my opinion, Business & IT is very important to people nowadays. We can make the business and gain the sales from the IT or also known as E-marketing, e-business and also e-commerce. All of this business is use information technology as a medium to sell their product and services. The internet, combined with other information technologies, has created many interesting ways to provide customer value. E-business is the constant optimization of a firm’s business activities through digital technology. E-commerce is the subset of e-business focused on transaction. E-marketing is the use of information technology for the marketing activity.

However, business give an activities for employees across disciplines work together in cross-functional teams worldwide using computer networks to share and apply knowledge for increased efficiency and profitability.

I can give examples for the business who applied IT. For examples that I can give is business Amazon.com. Amazon is the best company who adapted the IT to their business. It is the world's largest online retailer. The founder and CEO of Amazon.com, is Jeffrey Preston also known as "Jeff" Bezos. He is an online merchant of books and later of a wide variety of products. Amazon.com started as an online bookstore. The company also produces consumer electronics notably the Amazon Kindle e-book reader and the Kindle Fire tablet computer and is a major provider of cloud computing services.

Objectives

"Business objectives are a list of goals and directions that a business owner sets down in writing for a company to follow. It is essentially an outline of where the company wants to go and how it intends to get there. They give everyone in the company a written sheet to compare their efforts to in order to see if they are working towards the overall goals of the company. In short, they provide the overall direction the company wants to go in and communicates that to the company". [iii] 

I will describe the statement above where business needs objectives for continuing to success. Every business there is a direction and purpose to survive and make a profit. The direction and purpose is like vision and mission. Each company will provide the vision and mission to employees where it is the way forward. Therefore, the objectives are established to provide enthusiasm for a company to continue to grow. Plus when use the IT the business also can run smoothly and will maintain the objective. It is very important to have an aims because it provide a focus for the business & IT, to see what they are trying to aim for, an aim highlights key areas of development and achievement.

There are the few of objectives I can state for Business & IT:-

To be recognized throughout the world where use e-marketing in their business.

When use e-marketing people will know the business that the product and services sell.

As part of its e-business model, an organization describes the ways in which it creates value for customers and partners.

This description is in line with the marketing concept, which suggests that, the social and economic justification of customer wants and needs while meeting organizational objectives.

Information technology typically, but not always, will increase benefits and lowers costs to stakeholders.

Means, it can decrease value when web site are complex, information is hard to locate, and technical difficult to interrupt data access.

Attract more customers by using e-business, increasing their net profits, gaining bigger market share by improving and diversification of their services in world wide.

We can attract the customers because e-business nowadays get more attention to people who love to online in anywhere they want especially using their smart phones.

Integrate information and services from multiple systems.

Information, application, products, services or e-business made can be access in everywhere.

Information Technology in Business: The big picture

"Computers and information systems are essential parts of every business today. Like accounting and legal, every business needs to invest in technology to compete. Technology is both a cost of doing business, and opportunity to do more business. Most people I talk with recognize the necessity of having a computer, an email address, and a web site, but still look at the upfront cost more than other issues" [iv] 

According to the article above, I can describe at this era globalization, businesses are need IT to continue to grow. As the law has been set, every business needs to invest in technology. Every person who spoke on the importance of IT is most have a computer, e-mail address, website and so on. But this case arises because we are concerned about the cost.

Dell’s Entry in India

"Dell International started in India about seven or eight years back by opening a customer contact center at Bangalore in 2001. In 2003, the second contact center was opened at Hyderabad. The company operates its services from four centers based at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Gurgoan. Dell started in Bangalore providing customer support to English speaking countries and later also began providing technical support, procurement of financial back office and Knowledge process outsourcing. After the U.S., Dell India is the second biggest centre with 13,000 employees. The strategic importance of India to Dell is evident from the fact that India was one among three locations (the other two being US and UK) where Dell’s Latitude E series and Precision notebooks were launched." [v] 

The statement above can be described; Delll International was initially based in Bangalore in the year 2001. In 2003, Dell opened a branch in Hyderabad. Now there are four Dell customer center in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Gurgoan. Dell self-centered in Bangalore providing technical support. Dell India is a center of second largest after the U.S. During the second biggest centere, Dell India have more than 13,000 employees. India, U.S. and UK are among the countries which have the Dell Latitude E series and Precision laptops launched.

From the title that I choose about Business & IT, we can answer and discuss.

What are the benefits of technology for the business?

There are many benefits that technology can helps business. First, the businesses must choose the potential customers. After get the potential customers, try to develop a business relationship to keep customer satisfaction. Second is, business can reorganize operations, reduce the costs, improve efficiency, maximize profit, minimize waste, allocate ability to interior business instead of operating cost. Next is, the businesses need to provide better services to customers in order to keep customer more comfortable and quality to use it. However, if the business have partner, they need to keep their relationship. Once the relations are broke, the business will be collapse. Last but not least, we need to allow customers to give a better guide the business.

Why do all business majors need to study information technology?

As mention early, Information Technology is very important nowadays. It is important for business use and application of IT in business. With IT, a business can provide a good service to customers. They also can make product for innovation, where they will be successful tehcnopreneur through technology, where they use to create or innovate the product.

Relationship between Information Technology and Business

Information and communication technology has made rapid advances. It can be people work from the house only by using the internet. With the availability of technology such as computers, we can save a lot of data to the business. It also saves time for business. Information can be delivered to customers immediately as instant message, e-mail, facebook, twitter and so on. Use of IT in business can reduce costs. The company is also able to minimize the employees and improve production quality.

Conclusion

As a conclusion, for this assignment has highlighted some of important Business & Information Technology. In the majority of the business are use IT. Means, business & IT are related each other. However, many of the employees in the more successful companies are now taking information systems to apply in the business. The view that information is a precious asset is almost commonly accepted by the companies surveyed.

Information technology plays a serious role in supporting the decision-making function in business organization. IT provides the Management Information System (MIS) in a business organization. The advances in information technology have heavily influenced profitable businesses in several ways. IT can also help a business to expand power and disseminate all information resources in a few seconds. The use of information technologies can also increase the businesses income through advertising in a range of existing forums.

Besides that, IT gives impact to the business. Most of the business is using IT and it automatically increases the knowledge of employees. Businesses are not potential without help of information technology. IT is also changing from time to time. They will change based on the advanced technologies nowadays. So the company should be alert to apply the new IT to their business. So the last word that I can be conclude are, without IT professionals, companies would not have qualified professionals to help maintain the technological elements inherent to their daily business needs.
