Things that employers might learn about employees from both of the software

Employer can learn about their employee’s computer usage activity. They can observe and monitor what they do on their computer is mainly for work or personal use. They can use the software to do the follow things which include observing the employee’s website visits and searches, application usage, internet connections made ,files and document used ,chat conversations ,windows that the employees open and email activities. This way employer can track their employee performance if they are not doing well in work.

Is it ethical for STAR to monitor its employees?

It is ethical for STAR to monitor its employees to a certain extent .It is okay to monitor their employees if the manager finds that a particular employee has dropped in his/her performance ,it’s alright for the manager to do so only if there is a need to do so. But it has to be mentioned in the Acceptance use policy .Otherwise, it is kind of unethical to do so .It invades the employee’s privacy and no employee would like their supervisor to track what they are doing on their computer like what website they visit or how much time to do their work. If you are the employee, I am sure that you will not like it.

Objected orientated approach for designing and modelling approach

Objected orientated software development is an iterative approach to software design in which the decomposition of a system based on the concept of an object (Grady Brooch 1986, page 211). The software development life cycle includes analysis, design, implementation and testing phase .The analysis and design phase will be discussed in this report .In analysis. The analysis phase shows the interactions between system and users analysed to identify objects.

In design, this model determines how it is developed into architecture for software components with a smooth transition to code the software. The model is developed and viewed through graphical and textual representation which provides ready communication and is grouped into classes, sub classes and hierarchies which is also known as the Unified Modelling Language (UML).The UML consists of two types of diagrams: behaviour and structure diagrams which includes class, activity , use ,state machine ,sequence diagram .

Traditional structured approach

The traditional approach is a predictive process that follows the waterfall approach .It completes one stage before performing another stage. The waterfall approach emphasis discrete activities must be performed sequentially .Backflow is impossible or at least exceptional. The traditional approach has five phases: requirement analysis, design, implementation and maintenance .The requirement analysis and design phase will be discussed in this report.

Requirement Analysis

The requirement is being gathered from the user at the start of the software development process .They are being analysed for their validity and the possible of incorporating them into the system. A requirement specification document is then created after everything is finalised, which serves as a guideline for the next phase .The requirements are fixed is hardly changed until finalisation. It makes use of tools such as the Data flow diagram, Data dictionary and context diagram

Design

The requirement specification from the first is being in this phase and a system design is being .The System design helps to specify hardware and system requirements and also helps in defining the overall system architecture.

Objected orientated approach over the traditional approach

The reason STAR should use the object oriented approach over the traditional approach because corrective actions can be taken at the end of each iteration .The corrective action can be changes to the requirement and specifications due to incorrect misinterpretation of requirements and other design and code related changes ,This could save a lot of money and effort as results can be seen at the end of each iteration cycle .STAR need not wait till the end of the development cycle .The objects are reusable and can potentially reduce time and cost of development
