Introduction

I am Win Thandar, the student of Level 5 Module in IBCT Computer Center from NCC Education (UK). This Assignment Title is SSM Chutney Limited for Agile Development. My responsibility is to accomplish this assignment .

Scenario

SSM Chutney Limited makes a wide range of chutneys that are sold to supermarkets throughout the UK. They have recently started a DSDM Atern software development project to provide a website that will allow them to sell their chutney to the general public online.

SSM Chutney has a small fully trained DSDM Atern development team with website development skills. The team have been working together for the last 4 years and have a reputation for delivering quality systems on time. This is due, in part to the willingness of the senior managers within the company to accept the DSDM Atern philosophy and provide empowered business users to work within solution development teams.

The project is now in Foundations and the following MoSCoW prioritized requirements have been baselined.

Customers should be able to:

Change what is in their basket before they proceed to the checkout page (M);

Browse information regarding the ingredients of various chutneys (S);

Search by size and type of chutney (M);

Enter separate invoice and delivery addresses (M);

Choose a delivery slot (M);

Pay by cheque or credit card (C);

Have their order gift wrapped (C);

The website should allow for the following:

Customer feedback on the service provided (M);

Discounts to be applied for large orders (S);

Secure online transactions (M);

Notifying the customer when their order has been dispatched (M);

Real time credit card authorization (S);

Providing background information on SSM Chutney Limited (M).

The website should be operational by 15 September 2013

Task 1

Business Sponsor

Business Sponsor involved in the project level roles.

A Business Sponsor is the main budget holder for the project.

They must have ability to provide the resources and funds.

They must have awareness of business knowledge and ability to solve the business problem.

Business Sponsor owns the business case.

They have responsibility for on-going project and viability.

They must respond rapidly for escalated issues through the project.

I suggest Brenda Jones as a Business Sponsor.

She is the budget holder for this project and she has the experience of budget holder for others project.

Business Visionary

Business Visionary is in project level roles.

They have an excellent communication skills.

They must involve when the project started and remain throughout the project.

They must contribute to key requirement, design and business review session.

They must have business vision and impact on business changes.

They must have excellent knowledge of business and technological possibility.

They ensure the project meet the business goal.

I suggest Elizabeth Reede as a Business Visionary.

She has the responsible for the day to day running of the business.

She has an excellent knowledge of finer details related to sales, marketing, deliveries, discounting and various other operational areas in SSM Chutney.

She has an awareness of business problem skills.

She has a well-known of business goals.

Business Ambassador

Business Ambassador includes in Solution Development team role.

This role is responsible for the high level view of how system should function to support business.

They have the good communication between and the development team and business users.

They must be able to provide the business knowledge and the organization policies.

They provide key focus on the design decision derived from the system design for the business required.

They make the right system is being develop for the business area.

I suggest Jonathan Peters as a Business Ambassador.

He has many experience in DSDM Atern team.

He has worked with Brenda Jones on many other project and he has knowledge of relevant business area.

He has awareness of business goals.

Business Advisor

Business Advisor must have a wider business perspectives and day to day business routines.

They must ensure the day-to-day decisions are right for the business needs.

They have an ability to communicate the business knowledge to ideas for the development team. They have the responsibility for developing the business user documentation.

They must involve in the requirements, design and review session for the right decision for the business.

I suggest as Julie Foster as a Business Advisor.

She is a general all-rounder. She has experience of most roles in SSM Chutney Limited.

She can give the right business advice for development team.

Task 2

Over view of User Stories

User Stories are defining the functions of the system that required business system and identifying the requirement of the business system. It defines what is the requirement, who is require and why it require in a simple way.User stories are used for ensuring the required function is met with the business and defining customer requirements for the development team.User stories describe as a non-functional requirements for the developers.

User Story must have the following parts:

User Stories ID - the unique identifier for user story that differ other user stories

Title or Name - Name of the requirement of function that the system need

As a - Customer or the person who required the function .

Action - That is the task to perform the requirement.

So that or Benefit - Advantages from this action performed.

Author - person who wrote this user stories.

Usage of User Stories:

User story define what has to be develop for the business project and it is prioritized by the customer's wants. This is used as the description for the developers to identify which is the most important for the system being developed.

It can be used as a description for the customer to validate the business process and their requirements met.

Benefits of User Stories:

It describes in a compact format. That can be easily understood by customers and the development team.

It allows the whole project to be broken into small increments.

It requires a little maintenance.

It can make to estimate the development efforts.

It can be used between the developer and customer throughout the project life.

Development time is short and any person who involved in the development team can be written.

Maintaining the close customer contact.

Most important requirements can be implemented by the development team.
