As I am the network manager of the company I have been approached by a manager and the manager wanted to know how a Local Area Network can be deployed in the company so that all the administrative works can be ease. There are few types of LAN such as Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Token ring, Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber distributed data interface (FDDI), Asynchronous Transfer mode (ATM), Apple talk. All this LAN has its own advantages and disadvantages but the manager just needs two LAN technologies so we just discuss about Ethernet and Fast Ethernet technology.
