The followings goals highlight the aims of the company "DevAffair". The project pertains to the creation of a website for project managers where they would be able to track the status of those projects which are currently being supervised by them.

Business Goals:

The business goals indicate the milestones that need to be achieved from the perspective of the business that would be initiated with the help of this project. These goals are as follows:

To provide a feasible online alternative to project managers for managing their projects and viewing the project’s status.

To provide better project management options to the project managers, thereby increasing subscriptions to the website.

To generate 35% - 40% growth rate in every trimester.

To increase the reach of the business’s service by providing dynamicity and mobility to the project managers.

Project Goals:

The project goals highlight the milestones that require to be achieved for successfully completing the phases associated with the project.

To provide an online portal for project managers to view and manage the progress of their respective projects in real time.

To provide effective communication modules for the project manager to communicate with the concerned parties.

To introduce appropriate mobility for enabling project managers to view their project’s status from convenient locations.

To integrate all the concerned parties to a project in a single group for simplifying the management of the project.

To enable the maintenance of a project log which would serve the purpose of identifying key issues highlighted in the process or specific achievements that have been made in a particular phase.

To test the website for possible bugs and provide resolution for all the errors which have been highlighted.

To conduct a post implementation verification to check the system’s stability (functional capabilities and interface) as well as the visibility of the website in search engines.

Scope:

The scope of the project is constrained to accommodate only project managers who want to view and manage the status of their projects by using the services provided by DevAffair. However the project would ensure that the project managers are provided adequate communication channels to all the concerned parties to the project by means of which the appropriate strategy may be applied by the manager.

Time and Budget Constraints:

Time and Budget Constraints are evident in the project where the budget for the entire project has been defined as $27,500. This is inclusive of the entire website setup along with copywriting, SEO placement, database integration and CMS. No additional budget has been set apart for conducting in-process testing and post implementation testing. Hence these designated activities have to be managed within the specified budget. Other major inclusive costs include the cost of domain, site hosting, and software development.

The project is provided with a timeline of 4 months (approximately 120 days). However in the case of genuine delays in the process, the timeline can be extended up to a maximum of 140 days (overall). All the phases of the project need to be completed during this time, inclusive of development, implementation, testing and operational initialization of the services provided in the website.

General and Technical Requirements:

The general requirements identified for the project are as follows:

A Computing System which has compatibility with the version of software being developed. (It is preferable to use the latest specifications for both software as well as hardware to ensure optimum performance levels). This system would be for the admin to manage the overall functionalities and process of the website.

A fast and reliable internet service needs to be obtained as the processes of the website can neither be initialized nor tested without appropriate connectivity.

Security measures such as antivirus software, firewall and other protective boundaries need to be established so as to prevent malicious entry into the main system.

A domain name needs to be purchased as per availability. This is a unique identity for your website and forms the base of all marketing as well as SEO activities that are conducted for the respective website. The purchasing of the domain name would have to done from the domain registrar.

Website hosting needs to be acquired for the project so as to exercise complete control over the processes of the site, including permissibility of subscribers / users to the system and the management of subscribers on the server.

An online server needs to be purchased to provide online storage as well as management of data without having to rely on static physical storage server units.

A website developer and a website designer are required for creating the functionalities as well as the design of the website on the basis of the interface type desired by the company.

A webmaster is required for managing as well as maintaining the website post completion. The following is the list of responsibilities which would be associated with the webmaster for the project:
