Introduction

This project is being done as a requirement for all the postgraduate international business students. The project includes the preparation of international business plan which has the marketing research, staffing research, the logistics, preparation of financial documents and supplier research. Project Scope

The purpose of this project is to prepare an international business plan on exporting chromite to Germany from the Northern Ontario mine of Ring of Fire which is being explored and exploited by the US based company Cliffs Natural Resources.

Gather relevant information about the chromite mine which was recently discovered in the northern part of Ontario. The information includes quality of the chromite, the size of the mine, transportation facilities and facilities for the employees.

Gather primary and secondary information on Germany through databases, news articles and the embassies available in Canada.

Although each team member is assigned to research a particular topic, all other team members should be informed and or consulted on each assignment. The team leader is also accountable for all project activities assigned to team members while they are responsible for their tasks.

The preparation of the international business plan can be done using both the primary and secondary sources. The primary sources are:

The Cost Management Plan clearly defines how the costs on a project will be managed throughout the project’s lifecycle and Project Manager will be responsible for the cost management throughout the duration of the Project.

Cost Variance Response Process

The Control Thresholds for this project is a CPI or SPI of less than 0.8 or greater than 1.2. Once reach Cost Variance corrective Action Plan is required.

Project manager has to provide a plan with corrective action to the sponsors with in the 3 business days

The cost change control process will follow the established project change request process. Approvals for project budget/cost changes must be approved by the project sponsor.
