From the private university of Sri Lanka the ICBT campus is at a high position and has a large number of students studying in it. Most of these students use internet for several reasons and one of this is buying and selling their products via online classified web sites. As a reason of this, some students face the harassment involving with fake persons. So to prevent these issues our team has made a classified website known as "Best Buy" in which the specialty of this is that only ICBT students can use it. As a result these students can do their buying and selling using Best Buy and also they have a security because both persons are registered at ICBT Campus.

The website Best Buy was developed by using Joomla Contend Management System (CMS) and Photoshop CS5. Our group has given their full effort to achieve success and develop this as a more user friendly website. The main purpose of this website is to give an opportunity to buying and selling, goods and services in the same place for every ICBT student who accessed various websites earlier. Advertising own products, services and selecting a proper buyer for doing transactions safely are the other most important tasks of this website.

CHAPTER 2 REFLECTION

2.1 FEELINGS

At first I would like to introduce my task briefly. As a developer, when I joined to the BestBuy Group, their idea was to develop an online buying and selling system. But because of the tough legal constrains we paid our attention to develop a classified website.

So within the limited time available we chose to develop a high standard website therefore we needed to know what types of tools were needed for this purpose. As a result we decided to use the joomla contain management system because it is faster and easier. In this task I worked as the developer.

Because I was a beginner for the joomla through doing this project I gained a very good knowledge. Finding a good component for publishing ads was very difficult. After finding the Almond Classified Component we were able to use it for our various needs and as it was an advanced component it was very interesting to work using this. While doing this project I had to know a lot about how the MYSQL Database worked so by referring to websites and watching video tutorials regarding joomla I was able to gain enough knowledge to finish creating this website successfully

2.1 EXPERIENCE

After completing 80% work of the Best Buy site, my computer was damaged by a virus attack and I was unable to work in it. My weakness was saving all backups on the hard disk in a separate partition in my computer. But I was able to recover all data through Ubuntu Linux installation CD. It was a new experience for me.

The one member of our group had proposed to earn income from advertising, in this occasion without using external module or components I could able to develop an advertising window using joomla inbuilt banner module. As well as to overcome the situation of damaging data due to virus attack of the system, I established a backup component in the website. And also through this website Site the Administrator is able to take online backups. It was the most importance task to security of our website.

Converting the joomla 1.5 Template to a 2.5 Template and editing that was easier for me due to the past PHP knowledge I had. And also trying to work on time it helped to motivate our team’s success. As a group I always respected the ideas of the others and also because of this I was able to solve difficulties that aroused.

We always tried to develop attractive and useful classified website for ICBT students and dealing with our team members I could gathered the more creative ideas.

2.2 STRATERGIES

To develop Best Buy classified web site, I used software like Joomla Content Management System, Dreamweaver and Photoshop cs5.

To obtain knowledge about Joomla I referred YouTube video tutorials.

To enhance attractive of our site interface, I used joomla templates and using Dreamweaver software I had able to edit that ".css" files easily.

2.3 WEAKNESSES

I had unable to manage the time for during semester.

Lack of joomla Knowledge, as the reason I had to learn joomla since foundation level.

There was no prior experience for develop a classified website

CHAPTER 4 CONCLUTION

As a result of performing the Team Software Development Project, we were able to develop software working together as a team. There were six members in our team and they were able to study and understand about the segregation of duties, work assignment and developing motivation factors. We have used the Rapid Application Methodology for the development of the system and thereby our task was completed more efficiently and effectively. All of our team members were assigned some duties and we were able to rectify mistakes and issues by conducting meetings of shearing and transferring knowledge among ourselves. Due to the dedication and devotion of the team, we succeeded in designing and implementing of online classified website. We expect to further develop this website by introducing new features in order to optimize the utilization of the website in a user friendly platform. In deed this Team Software Development project caused to improve my knowledge and to gather more experience in developing websites especially technical knowhow and also how to deal with people in achieving setout objectives of designing and developing a website.
