There are many different types of computer system but each

one generally falls into the there categories.

Personal computers � designed for one person to use at a

time including desktops,laptops,netbooks,PDAs mobile

phones and Xbox ps3and tablets.

Servers control network and all the other thinks and

machines.

Desktop computer

The familiar desktop personal computer is built around a

base unit, which may be designed as a tower or the desktop

unit. The base unit houses all the internal parts of the

computer system ,such as a the processor, ram and disk

drives, and also has other ports which can be connected to

all other devices.

A number of peripheral devices , like a mouse ,screen

,keyboard and a printer, are connected to the base unit . In

an office , a desktop will normally be linked in to a local

network and , through that ,to the internet. In a home a

desktop will be cume connected to the broadband internet

connection and may be linked into a home system.

Lap top /NETBOOK

.The laptop is the same as a desktop but a lot smaller and u can take it

eney where. Then u got the netbook wich is even smaller it is not so

good and dus not have as much ram and a good intelcor. The hard

drive is very small is u want it for just going on hotmail and all the uther it

ok but if u ARE DOING MORE THAN ONE THINK ON IT IS NOT SO GOOD IT

SLOW DOWN AND NEED UP DATING EVRY SO OFTEN.

PERSONSAL DIGITAL ASSISTANT(PDA)

.A personal digital assistant(pda) is a very small hand

device, also kown as a palmtop computer. The small

screen is limits its capabilities to some extent. Many use

touchdcreens for input.

.Most pdas provide Wi-Fi access for the web and email

use. Some are now combined with a mobile phone, and

can run of a 3g network to go on the internet.

.Most users link pdas to a personal computer on daily

basis so that they can synchronise data , such as email

and the entries in a calendar.

Smart phone

.Smart phones are mobile phones that have

many of different functions of a pda. In addition

they normally have a digital camera and the

facility to play audio files.

keypad , some offer a full keyboard. Othereuse

touchscreens wich can functon as a keyboards

when required.

Games console

.Small handheld game consoles have a built-in

screen and input buttons. Many have touchscreens.

.Larger games consoles usually link to a TV to

provide a screen. Joysticks and other games

controllers are built in the console.

connected. These consoles usually offer internet

access so that videos can be downloaded by

people and to be played as well as games.

Tablet

.A tablet computer is a type of lap top with a

large touchscreen, which replaces the

keyboard. Some tablets are specifically

designed for reading e-book, with others can

be used for a wider range of design sketches for

a customer.

Server

.Ant personal computer can be connected into a

network. A small network for 2 or 3 computer in a

office or home does not require any additional

computers. But managing a large net work requires

a powerful computer it called a server.

Embedded device

.Computer systems are also hidden away inside many

systems are know as embedded systems and they can be

Main memory

.This holed all the data that is being used by a

computer system while it is active. Main memory

requires power to work , so it is emptied when

Storage devices

.Unlike the main memory ,these do not lose the

date when they are switched off. All storage

devices keep date on storage media you can

use disk and tapes.

Storage media

.These are the actual disks or chips that are used

to store digital date. Storage media are placed

in a disk drive, which then then reads or writer

date. Storage media include hard disks, CDs,

DVDS and flash memory chips.

Input devices

.These transfer dater to the CPU. Examples

.The processor controls all of the system. None of

.Main memory is made up of ram semiconductor

Mouse

. A device that controls a pointer on the screen.

Keyboard

.The standard keyboard uses the qwerty kay

layout and includes a numeric keypad, some

.A scanner reads paper documents and turns them into
