1.0 Introduction

Business is an economic system where products and services are trade for money or exchanged for one another. In business, there must have buyer and seller who can make the process of buying and selling happened. There are three types of business which is privately owned, not for profit or state owned. The two important things that can determine the outcomes of an active business operation is business plan and business model. Business plan is the beginning before we started or run our business. It is to identify what is our products and services, who is our consumer, why consumer must choose our products and services, when consumer need our products and services and etc. IT is stand for information technology. It is the application of computer and also the telecommunication equipment to store, transmit, retrieve and manipulate data. We use IT to managing and processing information. That’s why it is quite important thing such as to key in data and to know the growth in our business that we run. Besides that, we also use IT to create some idea in expanding our future business. IT must align with business strategy. It is because IT has a main factor contributing in one’s of a business strategy, which are covered a few aspect in business hierarchy itself. For example, how to reduce cost, how to standardized the process, how to enhance productivity, how to improve workflow and communication and etc. Business and IT strategies have to be aligned together as for one's enterprise need to be competitive.

3.0 Aligning IT with business strategy

3.1 IT and business strategy

Why we need to understand the business? It and business need to alignment to each other. Firstly, we must understand how IT be align with business. IT be align with business using the information that business need such as to processing, storing, distributing, and capturing information data. There are many ladder patterns we will need to follow by level. The type of ladder pattern is Economy, Sector, Corporate, Business Units, Department, Team, and Individual. Understanding the detail about business level ladder pattern, Economic and Sector are most important. Nowadays, people are hire critical thinking to handle on the view down the ladder. It is because the Economy and Sector will directly affect of the operation some business. If the Economy down, the Sector will be down too.

3.2 Business culture

All people have a deference culture. Actually if u wants to expand the business we have to know and understand more about the culture of people in certain placed. Using IT we can find and search the culture of this people. The example, what is consumer like? To understand people culture is quite important in business. Now we can see not only focused in what at we produce, but we need to know what the people like. This is because they are will be our customer. IT can give us the best solution how to know people culture. For example, people can spreads rumours about something happened in their place using social network, informal meeting and etc.

3.3 IT estate

If we know about the culture we can get more knowledge IT estate because it is related. For example, using social network and informal meeting we can document it in data. After that we can supervise who will be in charge to manage the several thing jobs in our organization. So, we can divide the task to each member team in an organization to complete the information about how to run our business properly. For example:

Who is responsible to our supplier?

Who is managing the stock to give to our retailer?

How much it costing to be done the task?

In the same time we can use IT to do the chart performance, to know how the system operation, how to apply the line of business. Adding, we can sell our product through online or in many ways that we are discuss and be suggested. However without main power, skill and following the right step we cannot go through to the next future step. After that we can see the weakness of our organization and we can solve which is to improve our skill and process to keep run the business.

3.4 Work programme

To gain more profit in selling products and services we need to plan which is can make consumer know about the product and services that we offered. Using IT, we can expand the information about our product to customer. So, the consumer can buy and find our product through this information given. However, to expand more we have to do the promotion, tour of on product one city to another city, advertising on internet, page on social network and etc. To make it our programme run properly, we need person be in charge to make sure the planning go through.

3.5 Achieving goal

Before we started selling our product and services, we must know and test our product and services. It is to ensure that our product and services have a good quality to be selling to consumer. Besides, it is to prove to customer that out products and services is worth to them and must be chooses by them. This is the one of the way how to achieve goal in our business. If we want to achieve goal, we have to do:

We got many benefit if we align IT to our business strategy. The benefit is we can expand our business and got long term success. Even thought it takes time to achieved, it really worth if we are applies the right skill. To make our business successful, we must apply the knowledge of IT aligning with business strategy. After that we have to grab the culture to use all the information about the IT asset and application that we need to use. We need the right plan and do the right decision to make our business run properly, such as the promotion at the right place and right customer. At the last, to make our organization achieve on target, we must make sure the quality of product and can be sell to customer by follow the right planning.
