The Cold War 2

Conceptions of the Cold War

Throughout the years of the Cold War there was an eye for an eye relationship between the

United States and the Soviet Union. If Russia launched sputnik, then America would respond

in retaliation with their own space launch. The entertaining thing about the cold war was that

the United States and Russia even had their own war space. As a matter of fact the main reason

that the Cold War as long as it did was because both countries were fighting in a roundabout

way. If they would have just come out in the open and fought, it would have been over much

sooner.

Ultimately the frigidness between both nations started to take over other countries as well and

it became a war of the Communist vs. the Non-Communist and Democratic nations. The

pressures only climbed and both the United States and Soviet Union had nuclear weapons.

This is why both countries were keeping quiet because nuclear weapons could destroy the

whole world.

Presidents and Prime Ministers on both sides come and went but the war never ended. Every

president of the United States took the war personally as a commander in a battle and it became

a contest of who would do better. Once and for all it was George W. Bush that called the final

shots and also because Mikheal Gorbachev back down.
