What is the primary emphasis of the film or show? Examples: artistic expression, technological achievement, informative. Explain your answer.

The primary emphasis of movie is informative in the sense that it is describing the "dark side" of our society. Explaining, that how the so called religious persons misuse their value in society. And take everyone in society as their slaves, especially to their daughters and wives. The movie is also describing that how much problems have to face by the "transgender" persons of society.

What cultural values is the film or show attempting to promote? Do you agree or disagree with those values? Explain your answer.

As the movie is describing the misuse of religion and relationships. In my opinion although our society is being culprit of these wrong doing described in. but to some extent it is not applicable, in the sense that people are being aware and educated gradually. People make their daughters independent and support them as well. And although respect of a girl outside her home is a big issue, but education and awareness has changed the minds of people also.

Surface –level subject of this movie is the struggle of ""

Surface-level subject would be the struggle of "Zainub", the daughter of Hakim. She struggles and finally murders her father because of his violence with whole family, and make a lesson for whole society while asking "why is only killing a sin? Why isn't giving birth one?" just before hanged.

What trends in this film or show are also commonly found in other films or shows?

Although it was a different film in our film industry, but also having some trends, which are commonly found in other films too. Like, "red light area’ and "demand of girls". As in the film, the "Meena" was belonging to red light area and married with Hakim Sahib to have daughter.

What is the subtext or underlying theme of the film? What issues or values are explored in the film or show?

Underlying theme of the story was "Bol" or "speak-up" for own. The underlying theme was also that irrespective behavior with women, is deep rooted in our society, and the women has accepted her slavery. This must be kick-out by "BOL (speak-up)" or struggle.

What cultural stereotypes or archetypes are present in the narrative? What is the purpose behind the stereotype or archetypal character?

Hakim sahib", "zainub" and "Ayesha" were the archetypes in the narrative. The "hakim sahib’ was defining an evil model of society. But the "zainub’ and "Ayesha" living in same society are defining and creating courage for society especially for girls, to struggle to achieve their dreams.

What is the source of conflict in the narrative of the film or show? How is the conflict resolved in the film or show?

Source of conflict in the movie was the leading character of "hakim sahib", whose believes were so rigid and ignorant. Whole family of Hakim was living hand-to-mouth, zainub tried out to convince his father "Hakim" to allow her to earn. At the end zainub murders him and hanged-out by decision of court. After this incidence the whole family of "Hakim sahib" make themselves independent in society, and proves their selves honorable for society.

In what way is sound or music used to tell the story or to manipulate the viewer response?

Sound and music of the film was used tactfully to manipulate the viewer response. Like,

when zainub was telling her story to journalists, the music was slow and least to gain audience attention accordingly. But at the time when zainub was pushed out from press conference to hang-out, the music were loud and creating emotions for zainub.

What ethical issues or moral dilemmas are explored in the film? Describe your reaction to issues. Do you agree or disagree with how the issues were portrayed? Why or why not?

Ethical issues like homosexuality, fiqah (sunni, sheia conflict) were discussed in film. In my opinion these issues are existed in our society and portrayed well accordingly in film. Because the actors are compatible to the role in film. Like Hakim sahib’s looks were complimenting his role (rigid and ignorant), and the zainub’s looks were defining him daring person according to her role.

What types of editing techniques or technical effects are used to tell the story? Examples: close ups, flashbacks, or computer generated imagery, or special effects.

Close-ups, flash backs were used in frequently and according to the situation in film. like, when zainub was telling her story to journalist she was on close-up view and the whole film was on flash-back mode. As the film was going on according to the zainub’s past.

Does viewing films or shows like this affect how you form your individual identity? Why or why not?

The films like this, inspired to behave courage for dreams and individual rights. The name of film was creating image as well; "BOL (speak-up)".that was the theme of the whole film, portraying accordingly the different issues. So the whole film was successfully inspiring to struggle for own self and for loved ones too.
