Greasy spoon restaurant is quite popularizing for everyone. Actually, greasy spoon restaurant is most of the people will go to enjoy. Because of greasy spoon restaurant is normally cheaper than 5-star hotel. Most probably the peoples like to enjoy the food in greasy spoon restaurant. However the cleanness of the greasy spoon restaurant is not that clean than 5-star hotel. The choices in greasy spoon restaurant are many and the dish portion is bigger compare to the 5-star hotel. Nowadays, the economical is not that good and they won’t go to the restaurant because they just want a simple meal they don’t need such good food. Moreover you might find a greasy spoon located at a truck stop, but more often you can find them interspersed throughout middle class neighborhoods in cities and towns.

My own restaurant

Everyone have their own dream restaurant, me too. I would like to have a greasy spoon restaurant. My greasy spoon restaurant will be like popularize for everyone. When every people go thought my restaurant, they may have perception and walk in my restaurant to try. I would fix up my restaurant to be very popular. I will set up my restaurant by using purple color. Because purple color is represent for many people is the feeling like relax. And nowadays many people are busy with their work, and I will decorate my restaurant to be more natural. So the people will feel great enjoy when have their food in my restaurant.

Wi-Fi is being a part of life for every people now, so I will set up a Wi-Fi in my restaurant. I would like to set up the environment in my restaurant to be more comfortable cause want the customer to be enjoyed and feel like their home. I also will set up a magazine stand in my restaurant. Moreover some of the customers come into my restaurant they might bring their kids along to have dinner. So I would like to set up a playground for those children to enjoy and won’t disturb their parents enjoy their meal in the restaurant. I also will make some kids meal for the kids so they won’t eat the food that is too over.

I would like to put the flower in my restaurant and also have some soft music for the customer. Because it can make customer feel like relax and have tranquility. And the customer will not be disturbed. And I also will set up a television for customer can enjoy the food and also enjoy the TV show.

2.1Type of food in my restaurant

First of all, I would like to separate my restaurant into two parts that is halal for Malay and non halal for those who are non-malay. So that my kitchen will separate into two parts and I will hire the chef that is Malay for my halal kitchen. Moreover, I will provide all the food that you can found in greasy spoon restaurant. For example of food is western food, Chinese food, Indian food, and Malay food.

Every week my restaurant will have a special dish and it is limited for certain time. Other than that, my restaurant also have set lunch start from 12-3 pm add on my restaurant also have discount for student when they provide their student card. For the drinks, I will give more choices to the customer. Like example, I would have more drinks like latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and I also will have some drinks about Chinese, Malay and also Indian. And the drinks they can also add their favorite like caramel, mocha, espresso, raspberry blackcurrant and also mango passion. And they can also add choose their milk for low fat or soy. Coffers need extra coffee or normal. For the ice and choose less, normal or none. And also the sugars want low normal or extra.

However, for the dinner plan I would like to promote my set dinner. My set dinner will be like 4 people to 10 people. The set will include a cup of coffee, soup of the day; main course is fried rice, chicken chop, lamb and fish. (Just choose one) and also have a desert is ice-cream or a cake.

My greasy spoon restaurant will open 8am until 10pm. If some family wants to celebrate their children birthday, they can also have a book at my restaurant. I would like to give them a service like 5-star service. For my employee, I will fire people are Chinese, Malay, and also Indian in good responsibility. Because can make the customer feel comfortable and the great enjoyable.

In the end, if I have a restaurant in my future, I would like to open a greasy spoon restaurant. Because greasy spoon restaurant is one of my dreams to be open. And also greasy spoon restaurant is a popularize image for everyone. That will maybe many greasy spoon restaurants will be open at the city. But I think I have power to handle it and can do it right. And I’ll also open the greasy spoon restaurant will my family and friends. Because I need my family and friends support to open my dreams greasy spoon restaurant. The other reason why I want to have a greasy spoon restaurant, because I want when somebody go through my restaurant, they will walk in have my food or have a drinks. I want all people also can have my food and drinks.

Culture can be interpreted as the integrated system that related to related behaviors, beliefs, norms, values, heritage and other any society’s works. Each of the ethnic group will practice its own belief and religion which is in meaning of a variety of festivals is celebrated in the whole year. A few cultures just have a lasting impression although there are many cultures that have influenced the land in Malaysia. Although the cultures in Malaysia have preserved their own cultures and maintained individual identity in the Malaysia’s land. Besides, Malay people don’t eat pork. Because Malay culture cannot eat pork. However, in Indian they don’t eat beef because they look beef is their god and is the luck for them and also with some Chinese.

I and my family is Buddha and we are Chinese. When we have our meal, we will use chopsticks and bowls. Chopsticks are a pair of slender sticks which is made by ivory, wood, plastic, or bamboo. We also will play ‘Mahjong’. ‘Mahjong’ is one of the most popular pastimes of the Chinese and is an ancient Chinese board game played with plastic ivory tiles. In this game, there are needed four players and each player will receive thirteen pieces. When the game is starts, a great clattering is heard from the shifting of the tiles on the board.

During the Chinese New Year, I and my mom will wear the dress call ‘Cheongsam’. The traditional attire of the Chinese in Malaysia is ‘Cheongsam’ for female and ‘Cheongsam’ for male. Chinese are preferred to the red color because Chinese believed red color is representing to the good luck and fortune. In a traditional Chinese wedding, the bride is often seen with a veil covering her head and face. When the wife wants to show her loyalty to her husband, she will accept to wear the veil.

Moreover, during Chinese New Year my family will eat the ‘Tuan Yuan Fan’. ‘Tuan Yuan Fan’ defines as reunion dinner. My family will have dinner with each other; because that’s means have reunion with family. The reunion dinner will have chicken, fish and some vegetable. But we also have a food call ‘Lou Sang’. ‘Lou Sang’ is eat before the reunion dinner, ‘Lou Sang’ is means luck for Chinese. For ‘Lou Sang’ inside got vegetable, carrot, peanuts and also salmons. My family will eat this during every Chinese New Year.

Chinese in Malaysia will celebrate ‘Chinese New Year’ every year and it is celebrated on the first day of the year in Chinese calendar. On the first of the ‘Chinese New Year’, Chinese was prohibited to sweep the floor. This because of the believed that to sweep the floor on the first new year’s day will sweep away the fortune or good luck of the family and just can sweep the floor on the fifth day. Chinese Hokkien will celebrate ‘Chap Goh Mei’ on the fifteenth day of the New Year.

Next, we will celebrate Dragon Boat Festival. It is occurring on the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. On that day, Chinese people will eat ‘Zong Zi’ which is the glutinous rice wrapped to form a pyramid using the bamboo leaves. Besides, they will also have a dragon boat racing. On the middle month of August, we also will celebrate ‘Mid-Autumn Festival’ and also known as ‘Moon Festival’. On that day, people will eat moon cake; carry the brightly lit lanterns, light to lanterns on the towers, and floating sky lanterns.

2.1 cultures of Chinese

In Malaysia, the Chinese food which is most popular is chicken rice. Before roast the chicken in an oven until crispy brown, whole of the chicken will marinated and on the other hand, the rice is cooked with the leftover stock in a pot. In finally the cucumber slices will place together with the chicken and rice. Beside of chicken rice, the popular cuisine of Chinese was ‘Dim Sum’. Most of the Chinese will prefer to the ‘Dim sum’ and hot Chinese tea as their breakfast. ‘Dim Sum’ is refers to a collection of savory and meats items which is put on small saucers, then kept hot in bamboo baskets and will served as ala-carte via a push-cart tray.

The other Chinese cuisine was the ‘Bah Kut Teh’. It is originated from Klang a few decades ago. ‘Bah Kut Teh’ is the pork ribs and intestines boiled with strong Chinese medical herbs, creating a stew that was ripe with aroma. ‘Char Kway Teow’ also popular Chinese food in Malaysia which is usually prepared at hawker stalls. ‘Char Kway Teow’ ia the noodle cooked over the high heat with light. When it is cooking, dark soy sauce, chili, prawns, cockle’s meats, egg, and chopped Chinese chives will be added.

I and my family will celebrate all the festival in every year. That is stand for the most important culture to me and my family. So we will keep this culture and pass to our next-generation. Although Malaysia is a multiracial country, Malaysian respects each other with the different races, so, Malaysian can live in this peaceful country without any quarrel. Besides this, Malaysian will not exclusive each other while they are different races and they can accept the other races as their friends. Malaysian is also celebrated the festivals together and share the traditional food. In addition, Malaysian will also respect their own culture and tradition, so, it can be passing to the next generation. Therefore, the previous generation will preserve it.
